Thanks be unto God for His favor upon us in this year of the Lord 2015!
A signature is the act of signing one’s name. It indicates approval, as of a contract or a legal document, such as a law being signed by a governor or president. A signature also obligates a person to assume a responsibility, as in the purchase of a home or automobile. Signatures are mandatory, requiring that a person sign several different times on different pages and initialing in other places. In years past, a king would seal a document either with a signet ring or an emblem, stamped on melted wax. The seal on an envelope not only protects its contents, but it is also a security measure. God’s sign and seal upon us is His Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13; 4:30).
The presence and power of the Holy Spirit is God’s signature and seal of approval upon the life of a believer. Every believer needs the experience of the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. This is the evidence that a person is really a child of God! Jesus said to Nicodemus except one be “born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto you, you must be born again.”
The prolific teachings of Jesus Christ about the Holy Spirit are essential to living a victorious life. Jesus made it very clear that a believer must have the Holy Spirit to enter into the kingdom of God. The Holy Ghost is the one who conceived Jesus Christ in the virgin Mary. The Holy Ghost is divine and an equal member of the Trinity. There is no person who speaks more about the ministry of the Holy Spirit than Jesus.
Jesus is the key to unlocking the mystery of the Godhead. All the fulness of the Godhead dwells in Christ bodily (Colossians2:9). Without Christ, one cannot access the Father, or be filled with the Holy Spirit. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.”
May we be encouraged as we fully engage in the Kingdom Ministry of Jesus Christ!
